At around 1:30pm this afternoon, I found myself shut in a bathroom stall at my office sobbing uncontrollably, feeling deep pain for a family I never met, a family I feel ever so close too just by watching from a far {along with thousands upon thousands of others} as they embarked on a journey of pure faith, as they made the decision to update the world on a continuous basis of their precious daughter’s fight against cancer. We are not the only ones to mourn over the loss of sweet little Layla Grace today, and we pray her parents, her sisters, her loved ones and friends, take comfort in the fact that thousands of strangers worldwide are profoundly touched by the story of their baby girl! Please take a moment to pray to the heavens {whether you are home or at your desk}, pray for Layla Grace’s family, pray for their strengthen and courage during this difficult time, pray for peace in their lives and in yours. It’s amazing how strangers can affect you in such a dramatic way, we’re sadden that the world is one special child less, yet there’s peace in the ending of her pain. Take the time today to hold your children just a bit tighter before you send them off to school or practice or bed, take a step back from your hectic life and cherish what you have…cancer, a car accident, god’s will, can take someone you love from you in a matter of months, weeks, days, or seconds! I’m no where near the perfect parent or wife I strive to be, and days like today make me regret my faults, yet treasure the simplest moments.

A “long” labor followed by an emergency C-section with her now 16 month old son Winston James has not deterred Billie Piper from wanting to have another child. Billie notes that her and her husband Laurence Fox have a combined amount of 7 siblings so they can understand what is in store for them when they have more children. Although she says that she does want more children she is practicing moderation as well.

Baseball practice started this week. Machine pitch for the 8 year old, first tee-ball season for the 3 year old {he’ll be 4 in 3 weeks}. This means that life has officially gotten even more hectic for the Blakes, if that was possible! Also means snack-time, dinner-time, and weekend lunches for about 4 days out of the week will be served on the baseball stands or lounging in the grass behind the dugouts once the weather gets a bit warmer. Reusable snack totes, here we come!!! I will NOT, will NOT, HAVE NOT bought plastic baggies for our lunches and away meals in quite some time thanks to all the reusable baggie companies out there! I’ve tried my fair share and have never had a complaint! Today I want to introduce you to the sturdiest ones I’ve found so far, plus the most “educational” for my pre-schooler.
