Movie Review: Alice In Wonderland
Mar 8th, 2010 by

Would you entrust your child to the man who made the cannibalistic splatter-fest Sweeney Todd ? That’s what Disney was hoping when it put the beloved children’s classic Alice in Wonderland in Tim Burton’s slightly sinister hands. As it turns out, it’s a perfect fit.

Bear Feet Shoes {FREE SHIPPING & GIVEAWAY}
Mar 4th, 2010 by admin

It all started with a simple observation, babies like to be bare footed. Developmentally babies feet should be barefoot as much as possible so it can grow naturally into its shape.   Common sense shows babies can not possibly always be barefooted due to hazardous hidden dangers in grass, on sidewalks, at the playground even in your own homes carpet.  Thus, Bear Feet Shoes was born with a simple classic infant bootie.  Noah was lucky enough to receive such a pair from Bear Feet Shoes just in time!  He’s nine months and cruising all around.  He prefers to have you hold his little hands while he tries to master walking to crawling any day.  So I was thrilled to put this adorable pair of shoes to the test.   The leather is really soft, the shoe is super light which is so important at this stage of development.  The rubber soles bend effortlessly and keep him from slipping and sliding on the hardwood floors as he steadies his wobbly little legs.   The stitching on the inside is minimal so the shoe isn’t irritating, pinching or making his baby foot red.  We are thrilled to put them to great use! Bear Feet are unique in that they mold to the shape of the foot instead of forcing the foot to conform. They are more flexible than most shoes, which is important because children are not heavy enough to fully flex most other soles

Mar 2nd, 2010 by

In her new book, We’ve Got Issues: Children and Parents in the Age of Medication , Judith Warner, author of the New York Times bestseller Perfect Madness: Motherhood in the Age of Anxiety , explores the myth of the overmedicated child and writes that the rise of mental illness diagnoses in children is not the result of anxious parents seeking treatment for their “normal” kids. Instead, she reports, we are being led to this assumption by a misinformed media and a small group of anti-medication doctors. With compassion and thorough research, Warner portrays another world in which families and doctors are fighting to give struggling children their lives back

The Value of Danger for Kids
Şub 24th, 2010 by

When Gever Tulley posted a YouTube video on the “ 5 Dangerous Things Kids Should Do ,” from a speech he gave at the TED Conference , little did he know how quickly it’d go viral. (Hint: Very quickly.) After surprising Internet success, Tulley, along with wife, Julie Spiegler, set out to publish their super-controversial book, Fifty Dangerous Things (You Should Let Your Children Do) , which encourages letting your kids build bombs, play with fire, and drive a car — among other seemingly-ill-advised things. When no publishers bit, citing potential lawsuits, Tulley and Spiegler took it upon themselves.

Here is some serious LA fashion for your little ones!  Especially mothers of boys, you will surely appreciate this collection.   You w0n’t find dinosaurs or sponge bob here!  This collection is for the hip, the sassy the very coolest of little people Let’s have a look! A company that started over a cocktail!  Sounds like a good start right.  Well it was, over 10 years ago shrnk was founded.  Now you can find this trendy but comfy infant and children’s collection nationwide.   The collection is about letting your kids be kids without dominating their wardrobe in hues of pink or blue.  Owners and designers Gia Von and Len Wu-Fuentes provide newborns and kids a taste of fashion that’s comfortable, practical not offensive or too comical, they like to be a bit trendy to compliment the stylish parents of these adorable kids. Noah, my 8 month old received this super cute tee from shrnk and it fits him perfectly.  The cotton is really soft and wears well after many washings.  Shrnk products are washed or garment dye with extra softeners to ensure the softest cotton feel next to your babies skin.  I like that! This boy’s hippy tee screams of ’70’s rock n’ roll.  Graphic reads “Wisdom Experience” with wings and yin yang symbol.  Super soft, garment dyed 100% cotton and made in the USA. Nicholas my 3 1/2 year old received this short sleeve polo with a motorcycle graphic in sage on it.  We wear it with a long sleeve tee under for layers and he loves it!   The shirt is really light weight, super soft.  I’ve washed it several times with regular loads of the kid clothes and the fabric and color hasn’t changed.   The polo looks perfect with jeans for pre-school, layered with sweats for the playground or with cords for church on Sunday.
